Subject: Annual Kensington Food Drive Q & A

Annual Kensington Food Drive Q & A: We have a lot of new families in the neighborhood so I wanted to take a few minutes to explain our process and hopefully recruit a new families to join our mission.
How do we get all the bags to every house? Years ago we divided the neighborhood up into 7 zones. We used these zones initially for the food drive and a paper copy of the community newsletter.
What are the zones? Zone 1, Battersea North of Powis Rd (44 homes) Zone 2, Battersea South of Powis Rd (58 homes) Zone 3, Holland Dr & Colville Ct (49 homes) Zone 4, Tavistock Dr & Emslie Terrace (44 homes) Zone 5, Powis Rd, Westfield Dr, and Redcliffe (40 homes) Zone 6, Abbotts Way & Dove House Lane (30 homes) Zone 7, Ifield Rd & Athlone Ln (30 homes)
When are the bags delivered? This year the bags will be dropped off at your front door (slightly under a door mat or nearby object so won’t blow away) the weekend of Oct 26/27 – THIS WKD 🙂
When will the bag be picked up? Saturday, November 2 we will have volunteers collecting the bag(s) you leave on your front porch between 10a-1p (NEXT WEEKEND – You have a week to collect)
What items do we put in the bag? Catholic Charities is in need of non-perishable food items from the community. This year they are specifically asking for help with their Thanksgiving items – Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Gravy Packets, Canned Yams/Pumpkin and any other classic Thanksgiving food item in addition to what is always on the list (cereal, pb/jelly, canned fruits/veg/beans, spaghetti, rice, etc).
Please start watching the grocery store ADs for BOGO. PLUS the holiday toy drive: any brand new toy for a boy/girl can be added to your donation and will be given to Catholic Charities for their giving tree mission.
How can I help? Shoot me a message on Next-door, email me KRLANTH79@MSN.COM, or text me

We need help with distribution and collection. We have a few more zones we need volunteers to help with! We make this a family affair! My kids have been helping since they were teeny tiny and love this tradition. We would love to have you join in on this incredibly generous opportunity to bless locals.
Thanks so much!
